Location. With a Meditteranean climate and complex geography, The Cliffs is where travelers are exposed to 315 days of sunshine per year and many of the Golden State's most rewarding ocean views. This luxury property is perched on a cliff 150 feet above the Pacific, only one mile north of Pismo Beach and 10 miles from historic downtown San Luis Obispo.
Hotel Features. Influenced by Spanish architecture and design, The Cliffs wears a sea-foam façade and a red-tiled roof. In the lobby, guests will encounter a cheerful atmosphere provided by a myriad of arched windows, an inviting wood-burning fireplace, and contemporary interior decor. Seasonal wine-tastings and sunset sangria parties are held in the lobby. Services at the Spa at The Cliffs include facials, body treatments, and massage therapies. The 7,000-square-foot poolside terrace and courtyard provide views of the tremendous waves breaking against the rocks below, while grassy lawns serve as a platform for small gatherings and banquets. Other hotel amenities include an extensive fitness center, the Sea Cliffs Restaurant, and multiple conference rooms and business facilities.
Guestrooms. Inspired by the hotel's surrounding natural environment, each of the 160 guestrooms is elegantly arranged in hushed earth tones that are quickly juxtaposed by dark, Pacific-rim decor. With Italian marble bathrooms, sitting areas with work stations, and some with private balconies featuring plantation shutters, these guestrooms offer intimacy to romantics and convenience to business travelers. Suites feature twice-daily maid service, turndown service, a refrigerator, sofa area with workstation, two 27-inch televisions, jetted tub, and an Italian-tiled shower and a bidet.
Expert Tip. The Travels with Charlie program allows dogs of any size in all first-floor guestrooms. Additionally, this pet-friendly resort offers dog beds, bowls, and collars.
