Location. The Airport Hotel Basel is located in Basel, Switzerland, within two kilometres of the airport and seven kilometres away from the city centre.
Hotel Features. Completed in spring 2007, the Airport Hotel Basel is an architect-designed contemporary high-rise. Its walls change from gold during the week to red at the weekends. The hotel has a fitness suite and sauna as well as a massage treatment room offering Chinese and traditional massage. There is 24-hour room service, a complimentary parking garage and wireless Internet access in public areas. The hotel also has a casino which welcomes guests aged over 18. There is a library in the lobby, which also has a television, shoe-shine service and complimentary newspapers.
The Airport Hotel Basel has two restaurants: La Brasserie, which serves international dishes for lunch and dinner, and Chez Georges, a fine-dining a la carte restaurant located in the casino. There is also a 24- hour cocktail bar.
The Airport Hotel Basel has extensive business facilities including an event space for up to 500 delegates and a smaller meeting room. Faxing and Internet services are available in the business centre.
Guestrooms. The 166 air-conditioned guestrooms are decorated neutrally with contemporary splashes of primary colours. Rooms are sound-proofed with large work desks and have high-speed wireless Internet access. All rooms have satellite television, clock radios and safes.
Expert Tip. Basel hosts the biggest annual carnival in Switzerland. The Fasnacht starts every year the Monday after Ash Wednesday and lasts for 72 hours. Up to 18,000 residents get dressed up in amazing costumes and parade around the streets.
