Location. Gaynor's RiverBend Ranch is located in Whitefish, Mont., with views of Spencer Mountain and the Stillwater River. Whitefish Lake Golf Club and Whitefish Lake are within six miles of the ranch. The Big Mountain Ski Resort is approximately 14 miles away.
Features. The ranch offers hiking and horseback riding trails adjacent to the property. Complimentary coffee, tea and popcorn are provided in the cabins. Wireless Internet access is complimentary. Picnic areas and nightly campfires with marshmallows and smores are available. Guided trail horseback riding, including a picnic lunch, is offered for a fee. On-site activities include riding a "practice" bull, roping, climbing in the hay, bird watching, floating down the river, and fishing. The ranch features authentic Native American tepees and a hot tub. Horse-boarding facilities, paddocks and pastures are available for guests' horses.
Guestrooms. Two-bedroom cabins at Gaynor's RiverBend Ranch feature hardwood floors and lodgepole furniture. All cabins offer full kitchens with refrigerators, ranges, microwave ovens, coffeemakers, utensils, and pots and pans. The cabins feature a dining area and a living room with satellite television. Washers and dryers are provided in all cabins. Daily housekeeping and one-hour, in-cabin massages are available for a fee.
Expert Tip. The host of Gaynor's RiverBend Ranch offers lectures about the history of horses, what to expect from horses, how to be safe around horses, and guided trail rides for a fee. Hands-on grooming tips, and saddling and mounting instructions are also provided.
