Location. The Chester Bulkley House, located on Main Street in Wethersfield, Conn., is within a few blocks of quaint shops, restaurants, museums, historic homes, the Connecticut River, Standish Park and Wethersfield Cove. Dinosaur State Park is four miles away and the historical residences of Mark Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe are less than five miles away. Also nearby are the Wethersfield Nature Center and Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. Hotel Features. Surrounded by the colonial environs of the village of Old Wethersfield, the Chester Bulkley House is a Greek Revival piece of history. Built in the nineteenth century, this house still retains most of the adornments from it's original state, including wide pine-board floors, hand-carved woodwork, working fireplaces and period pieces. Freshly cut flowers, friendly conversation, pillow chocolates and other thoughtful touches are the mainstay of this bed & breakfast. A full complimentary breakfast is served daily.
Guestrooms. The Chester Bulkley House offers rooms with both shared and private baths. Rooms with king, queen, full or twin beds are available. All rooms feature air-conditioning and cable television.
Expert Tip. Guests receive discounted admission to the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art on the first Thursday of every month from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Children age 12 and under are always admitted free. The museum is a convenient place to peruse fine art, listen to live music, attend lectures, or enjoy a drink at the cash bar.
