The hotel is undergoing a renovation project that includes the exterior of the building, the lobby, and the interior corridors.
Phase one, including installation of new fire alarm and sprinkler systems, enclosing the exposed piping, new doors for the rooms, new lighting fixtures and additional hall lighting, elevator's lobby upgrades, and new carpet in the hallways, is scheduled to occur September 1 - November 30, 2008.
Phase two is scheduled to occur September 1 - December 15, 2009, and includes restoring architectural features, installing new hurricane-impact windows, and painting the entire building.
