Location. The Dolce Villa is set amid shops and restaurants on De Pasquale Plaza on historic Federal Hill, the Little Italy neighborhood in Providence, R.I. Downtown Providence is less than one mile away. The Providence Performing Arts Center and Rhode Island Convention Center are one mile from the property. The Rhode Island School of Design and The RISD Museum are two miles from the hotel.
Features. This lemon-yellow, three-story hotel features Mediterranean-style architecture reminiscent of the hillside hotels of Positano, Italy. The hotel was created by a local restaurateur who is a co-owner of two restaurants in the building. The Caffe Dolce Vita specializes in Italian cuisine, and Geppetto's is a pizzeria. Room service is available from both restaurants. The hotel provides dry cleaning service, event catering and concierge services. Discounts to local restaurants are also offered. The Dolce Villa is a smoke-free property.
Guestrooms. One- and two-bedroom suites at the Dolce Villa offer fully equipped kitchens and living areas. The two-bedroom suites feature fireplaces. The color scheme for all suites is white-on-white, with white marble floors, white leather sofas and chairs, and white vaulted ceilings. All of the furniture for the hotel, including desks, tables and chairs, is custom made. Bathrooms offer jetted tubs, bathrobes and designer toiletries. Beds and sofa beds feature memory-foam mattresses. Complimentary high-speed Internet access is provided. Living areas are furnished with DVD players, flat-screen televisions and CD players. Select suites offer balconies overlooking the plaza. Complimentary popcorn, hot chocolate and biscotti are provided in all suites.
Expert Tip. De Pasquale Plaza's restaurants and gourmet shops are located on a charming cobblestone square with a fountain. In season, the square features live music six nights a week and outdoor dining.
