Location. The Yellow Farmhouse Inn is nestled on 10 acres surrounded by the Green and Sugar Post Mountains in Waitsfield, Vt. The inn is one-half mile off Route 100, otherwise known as the "Skiing Highway," as it leads to most Vermont ski resorts. Sleigh rides, hay rides, wagon rides and formal carriage rides at the Mountain Valley Farm are located less than three miles from the inn. Both the Sugarbush and Mad River Ski Resorts are positioned within seven miles of the property. Sugarbush Golf Club is less than eight miles away. Features. This restored 1860 farmhouse showcases common areas with fireplaces, a piano and board games. Complimentary three-course breakfasts, featuring fresh-baked muffins or scones, seasonal fruit, banana bread, French toast and pumpkin pancakes, are served each morning. Afternoon tea is also included. Complimentary wireless Internet access and a computer station are available. Pets are not allowed at this property.
Guestrooms. All guestrooms include private bathrooms, some with jetted tubs. Rooms at the Yellow Farmhouse Inn showcase handmade quilts and period décor. Select rooms feature Vermont Castings stoves, four- poster beds, sleigh beds and views of the Sugar Post Mountains. The Stephanie room features a rice-carved cherry four-poster bed with 18th Century English styling and a plush, jewel-toned jacquard and velvet patchwork comforter.
Expert Tip. The village of Waitsfield was established early in the 19th century as the commercial center for the rural farming communities of the Mad River Valley.
