Location. Nestled at the base of Vail Mountain, The Lodge at Vail, A Rock Resort enjoys a prime location in Vail, Colo. The lodge is positioned in the center of Vail Village, right next to the Vista Bahn chairlift. Vail's Tyrolean-style village boasts trendy shopping along with fine restaurants and the obvious recreational pursuits. The Colorado Ski Museum and Hall of Fame is two blocks from the property and Beaver Creek Village is a 10 mile drive. Vail runs a free shuttle service from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily, with shorter hours during shoulder seasons. Features. Guests are welcomed into an Alpine-inspired lobby, complete with a grand staircase and a Bavarian-style mural. Four jetted tubs and an outdoor pool are located within the lodge, which also offers fitness equipment. The Wildflower is an acclaimed restaurant serving creative American cuisine for lunch and dinner. The restaurant offers an extensive wine list and a tasting menu featuring fruits, vegetables and herbs grown in the resorts garden. Cucina Rustica features breakfast and a skier's lunch buffet everyday during the winter, and in the evenings features delectable Italian cuisine. Mickey's Bar is an intimate, casual pub open après ski and throughout the evening with piano entertainment. Safe-deposit boxes are located at the 24-hour front desk, and the staff provides dry cleaning and concierge services. Complimentary Internet access is offered throughout and the lodge maintains a fleet of Volvo's for complimentary guest use, based on availability. The lodge is currently in the process of expanding to include an 11,000 square foot spa.
Guestrooms. Accommodations feature complimentary wireless Internet access, cable television and VCRs. Child care is available in room for a fee, and all units come with bathrobes and humidifiers.
Expert Tip. The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens offer a relaxing break from mountain activity. At 8,200 feet, the gardens are definitively unique and feature around 2,000 varieties of plants plus a rock garden and a 120-foot waterfall.
Renovation Notice: Effective December 6, 2006, the hotel is undergoing expansion construction to add an 11,000 square-foot spa, heated outdoor pool, spa tubs and two luxury suites. There is no estimated date of completion available.
