Occupying a 1940s Colonial-style mansion, the Lafayette Hotel is within 1 mile of the San Diego Zoo and the Mission Valley shopping-and-entertainment district. The Gaslamp Quarter and Old Town San Diego State Park are about 5 miles away.
Hotel Features.
The hotel’s Olympic-size outdoor pool was designed by Olympic swimming champ and Tarzan star Johnny Weissmuller. Lafayette Hotel has two restaurants: the poolside "L" Bar and Grill, featuring patio dining; and the locally popular Red Fox, with its piano bar and Tudor décor.
