Location. The Stonebow Inn is located in the Little Crossings community of Grantsville, Md. The Spruce Forest Artisan Village, located across the street, showcases the work of Appalachian craftsmen with wood carving, pottery, weaving and spinning exhibits. New Germany State Park, approximately six miles from the inn, offers hiking on groomed trails, and contains a 13-acre lake offering canoeing and fishing. Features. The inn, flanked by gardens and a furnished deck, is positioned on seven acres along the banks of the Casselman River, renowned for its trout fishing. Full, complimentary breakfasts, including Grand Marnier French Toast, Stonebrow Inn Premium Granola and Black Forest Baked Eggs, are served daily. Wine, champagne and cocktails are offered on select days. The inn's parlor features a fireplace. A two-person dry sauna is located on the lower level of one of the inn's buildings. A video library is available.
Guestrooms. Accommodations are located in multiple buildings, and offer private bathrooms with designer toiletries and velour bathrobes. Beds are made with 400-thread count sheets, handmade Amish quilts or elegant Matelasse coverlets. Televisions with VCRs, and complimentary wireless Internet access, are included. Complimentary coffee, tea and bottled water are provided in all rooms. Select rooms feature CD stereos and microwave ovens.
Expert Tip. Guests of the inn receive discount tickets to the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, which departs from the neighboring city of Cumberland. The train offers a three-and-one-half hour excursion through Allegheny County, with a narrator describing the scenery, history and culture along the route.
