Located off the 17th Street Causeway, the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale is situated across from the Convention Center, and a half-mile from Port Everglades. Just over the bridge lie Fort Lauderdale's famous beaches and beachfront shopping, dining, and entertainment. Serving cruise-ship passengers, vacationers, and businesspeople, this relatively new hotel on the Intra-coastal Waterway underwent a $6 million renovation in 2009. Hotel amenities include a large heated pool and spa tub, a fitness center, a business center, meeting rooms, room service, 24-hour front desk, and an on site restaurant - Bistro 17.
The Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Hotel offers 236 guestrooms including down comforters on triple-sheeted beds, 36-inch plasma televisions, and high-speed wired and wireless Internet access (surcharge). Traditional decor includes tropical-theme dark-wood furniture, floral drapes with matching bed skirts and throw pillows, and botanical prints on cream-colored walls.

Use an American Express card to book a weekend stay in a "$50 Gift Card" rate category from September 29 - November 22, 2009, for travel from October 2 - December 13, 2009, and receive a your choice of one $50 American Express, West Elm, or Sur la Table gift card per stay.
Valid for Thursday, Friday, or Saturday arrivals only; stay must include a Friday or Saturday night. Guest will receive a voucher upon check-in with a URL to register for a gift card. Guest has 30 days from check out to register their gift card choice online. Gift card will be mailed to qualified guests 4 to 6 weeks after redemption. Gift cards do not expire. Canadian residents will receive a $50 CAD American Express Travelers Cheque in lieu of gift card. Offer not applicable to groups of 10 or more. Rooms are limited; blackout dates or other restrictions may apply. While supplies last. No rain checks or substitutions will be issued. Void where prohibited.
