Location. The towering oceanfront La Playa Resort, in the northern area of Daytona Beach, Fla., is within three miles of the Ocean Center Convention Center, Ocean Walk Shoppes and the Daytona Beach Fishing Pier. The resort is less than 15 miles from the Daytona International Speedway.
Features.The nine-story La Playa Resort features an outdoor pool, seasonal poolside tiki bar, indoor pool, children's pool and three spa tubs. Seasonal family recreation opportunities are available, including organized children's activities and a shuffleboard court. The Veranda Restaurant offers a daily breakfast buffet, and the Penthouse Lounge features the Bonkers Comedy Club. Other amenities include fitness equipment, laundry facilities and complimentary wireless Internet access throughout the building. Guests receive complimentary access to a fitness center less than three miles off-site at a partner hotel.
Guestrooms. Each of the 238 guestrooms feature balconies with either beach or pool views. All accommodations offer kitchenettes equipped with microwave ovens, refrigerators and coffeemakers. Select units provide electric ranges, full-size refrigerators, dinette areas and service for four. Accommodations are equipped with cable television and complimentary wireless Internet access. In-room safes are available.
Expert Tip. The downtown Daytona Beach Historic District along the riverfront, offers a nostalgic experience. Riverfront Marketplace on Beach Street features unique shops and restaurants along a lush, palm-line avenue. Beach Street is also home to Riverfront Park, Halifax Historical Museum, Angell and Phelps Chocolate Factory and antique malls.
