The Jekyll Island Club Hotel is a true landmark hotel - with located in Jekyll Island, Ga. The Summer Waves water park is two miles away. Originally built as an exclusive island getaway for William Rockefeller and J.P. Morgan, this Victorian-era resort is comprised of five buildings and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1978. Restoration during the 1980s established the resort as a historic hotel with modern amenities in unspoiled natural surroundings. The hotel consists of three main buildings surrounded by landscaped grounds in the center of the Jekyll Island Historic District. Period furnishings and ornate woodwork inside complement the atmosphere created by an exterior tower, bay windows, and verandas. Several boutiques and collectible shops now operate on site. Business facilities include wireless Internet access, 10 meeting rooms and a ballroom. The hotel also offers complimentary transportation throughout the island and a fitness center.
This non-smoking hotel features traditional décor and modern amenities. Room service is available during limited hours. Guests can dine on-site at any of the hotel's three restaurants. Jekyll Island itself offers a wide variety of activities, with nine miles of pristine beach and 63 holes of golf on the island.
