Location. The Quail Lodge Resort is located two miles from Galante Vineyards in Carmel, Calif. The hotel is four miles from shopping at Carmel Plaza. Point Lobos State Reserve is five miles from the hotel.
Hotel Features. With three tennis courts, Quail Lodge offers unlimited play from dawn to dusk. Bocce courses, an outdoor pool, indoor lap pool and spa tub are provided. Hiking, biking and horse-riding trails are offered along the Santa Lucia Mountains. The Wellness Center at Quail Lodge features personal trainers and fitness classes, yoga and meditation. The spa offers services such as massages, facials, body treatments, manicures and pedicures. In-room spa services are available. The Quail Lodge Golf Club features an 850-acre, 18-hole golf course and a nine-hole putting green. Dining options include Mediterranean cuisine at The Covey, a walk-up patio bar at Edgar's and poolside snacks at Quail's Nest Snack Bar. The hotel includes meeting and ballroom facilities. High-speed wired and wireless Internet access is available throughout the property. Pets are allowed for a fee. Pets receive personalized cards from resident canine, Max, guides to local pet-friendly attractions and activities, pet beds with sheets, food and water dishes, and all-natural Quail Doggie Bones upon arrival.
Guestrooms. Guestrooms feature vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and private patios or balconies with views of the garden, lake, fairway or putting green. Beds feature pillowtop mattresses and Italian linens. Plasma-screen televisions and DVD players are included. Bathrooms feature tiled showers and granite countertops.
Expert Tip. Hit the off-road. The Quail Lodge, in partnership with Land Rover, offers the Land Rover Experience Driving School. Guided by a qualified instructor, participants make steep descents down a two-track trail, climb piles of logs and navigate tight, hairpin turns on the off-road course near the Quail Lodge Resort. There are more than 80 acres of hills, descents, wooded trails, sand traps and rocks to explore. Lessons and programs range from one hour to multiple days.
