Location. The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead is located in the uptown district of Atlanta, Ga. The hotel is across the street from the Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza shopping centers. Buckhead's nightlife scene is one mile away. The High Museum of Art is within five miles. Downtown Atlanta is seven miles from the hotel.
Hotel Features. The hotel's lobby features a marble fireplace and is furnished with framed 18th-century English paintings hung on mahogany wood panels. Fresh orchids bedeck marble tables and crystal chandeliers cast a warm glow throughout the sitting areas. Complimentary fruit, hot cider and coffee are available in the lobby. The hotel offers a health club with a heated indoor pool, spa tub, sauna and men's steam room. A sundeck is peppered with cushioned lounge chairs. An on-site tailor is available for clothing alterations and repairs. Shoeshines are complimentary. The hotel offers four dining options. The Dining Room, open Tuesday through Saturday, offers a daily-changing menu that focuses on French, Mediterranean and Asian cuisines. The Cafe serves bistro-style fare, with seasonal outdoor patio seating. The Lobby Lounge serves cocktails and light appetizers, with live piano jazz performances four nights each week. Expresso's coffee shop and deli is open weekdays for breakfasts and lunches. This smoke-free property was named to the 2008 Travel + Leisure 500 List.
Guestrooms. All 517 guestrooms feature entryways with mahogany hardwood floors. Bay windows offer sitting areas with city views. Beds are topped with pillowtop mattresses and swathed in 400-thread count, jewel-tone Egyptian-cotton linens. Rooms include 37-inch flat-screen televisions with DVD players, video game consoles, and iPod docking stations. Digital in-room safes are laptop compatible. Bathrooms offer custom millwork cabinetry and Italian marble vanities. Glass-framed separate showers feature rain showerheads. Bulgari toiletries are complimentary. A bath butler and bath menu are available upon request. Turndown service is provided nightly.
Expert Tip. Each Friday afternoon, the Lobby Lounge serves a traditional English High Tea. Choose from several prix fixe menus, which offer a selection of loose teas, including black, red, green and white teas, and herbal infusions. Savory tea sandwiches and miniature pastries are included with each of the menu offerings.
