Less than a mile from Reagan National Airport, the Doubletree Hotel Crystal City also is only a half-mile from the Pentagon and five miles away to downtown Washington, D.C., and all of its sites that guests can view out their hotel windows. The National Mall, White House and Smithsonian museums lay only three Metro stops away. A free Doubletree shuttle whisks guests to the airport, nearby Metro train station and the Pentagon City Mall with its more than 160 upscale shops, including Macy's and Nordstrom. The Doubletree includes two towers that are linked by a mezzanine, which is the focal point for the registration, activity and recreation desks. A café, express coffee shop and lobby bar also reel in guests on the mezzanine. The Doubletree features a revolving rooftop lounge, which makes a complete circle every 45 minutes, encouraging guests to drink in the stunning views of Washington and the surrounding area, especially at night. The rooftop Windows over Washington restaurant offers continental modern American cuisine spiced with an equally panoramic view of the cityscape. For recreation, guests can swim in an indoor, rooftop pool lit by a skylight and enhanced by large windows looking out over the Pentagon. The hotel's fitness center includes a sauna and cardiovascular and weight- training machines.
The Doubletree's 630 rooms are decorated with rich wood furnishings with black trim, earth tones and retro black-and-white photographs. All rooms include Internet access, floor-to-ceiling windows and coffeemakers.
The hotel will be renovating from October 21, 2009 to February 28, 2010. The following areas are affected: Completion dates are subject to change. Every effort will be made to minimize noise and disturbance.
