Location. The Echo Canyon Manor, located in Sulphur, Okla., is one block from the Chickasaw National Recreational Area, offering natural flowing springs, waterfalls and 20 miles of hiking trails in the Arbuckle Mountains. A golf course, antique shopping and restaurants are available one mile from the manor.
Features. The Echo Canyon Manor offers a secluded setting on 20 acres often visited by wild turkey and deer. Complimentary three-course breakfasts are served daily in the dining room. Lunch and dinner are available for a fee. A front porch is furnished with rockers, and a sitting room offers a fieldstone fireplace. The manor includes an orchard with blackberry bushes and peach, apple, pear, plum and persimmon trees. The freshly-picked fruits are used made into sauces and jams served at the manor's meals.
Guestrooms. Guestrooms and suites at Echo Canyon Manor feature private bathrooms and complimentary wireless Internet access. Guestrooms are furnished with antiques and original artwork. Suites boast in-room two-person Jacuzzi mineral baths and private decks. The Rose Palace suite features beds topped with pastel Matelasse bedcovers and brocade linens. A 32-inch satellite television offers over 800 channels, including 50 movie and music channels. A wet bar area provides a refrigerator, microwave oven, coffeemaker with complimentary coffee and a pair of wine glasses with a corkscrew.
Expert Tip. The Lake of the Arbuckles, located one-and-one-half miles from the manor, is said to be one of the best fishing lakes in the state for catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, white bass and bluegill. There are several boat ramps on the 36 miles of shoreline. Fishing is permitted year-round.
